As senior vice president of construction at Vantage Data Centers, Robert Mcghie is responsible for overseeing the delivery of new data centers across all EMEA markets on time, within budget and without compromise to quality or safety. Mcghie brings to Vantage more than 20 years of knowledge in technical infrastructure design and engineering, operations and business management, and proven expertise in project management of planned IT capacity.
Prior to joining Vantage, Mcghie was the chief technical officer at Virtus Data Centers where he was responsible for the design, build, operations and budgets for all data center facilities and general business operations. Under his leadership, Virtus’ data center business grew from 20 clients, three operations staff and 4MW to 110 clients, 70 operations staff and 73MW in just five years.
Before Virtus Data Centers, Mcghie led operations at CE Colo, which was acquired by GTS in 2020, where he managed 14 data centers across five countries with more than 300 clients. He also held senior roles at UK Interxion Carrier Hotel in London and Interxion BV in the Netherlands.
Mcghie earned a diploma in electrical engineering from Falkirk College of Technology.
