Vantage Data Centers accelerates Ashburn campus delivery to Early 2019 as construction began this week

Vantage has broken ground on its massive 108MW campus in Ashburn, Virginia; Steve Conner has also joined as VP, Sales and Solutions engineering in the region

SANTA CLARA, CALIF. – March 28, 2018 Today, Vantage Data Centers (“Vantage”) announced that construction has begun on its first data center campus in Ashburn, VA.  The company has also announced that timing for the first phase of the build has been accelerated and will deliver new capacity to the market in Q1 2019.  The first phase will consist of a 24MW capacity building, with 6MW of critical IT load fully operational on day one.

The Vantage Ashburn campus is located in the heart of “Data Center Alley”, within the two-mile perimeter of the densest interconnection point on the east coast.  The 42-acre campus will offer robust fiber connectivity and will consist of five data centers totaling 108MW of critical load built out in phases over time.  Vantage will provide Northern Virginia customers with the same premier wholesale data center service experience it is known for at its west coast campuses.

“Northern Virginia, in particular Loudoun County, is the epicenter of technology and internet commerce on the east coast.  Our team is excited to accelerate this project and deliver a world-class product in our third strategic market.” said Lee Kestler, Vantage’s Chief Commercial Officer.  “With construction now underway, we are focused on expanding our sales and operations teams to drive Vantage growth in Northern Virginia,” added Kestler.

The investment and growth plans for Vantage are part of a continuing trend bringing new business and opportunity to the Northern Virginia area.  “Vantage has built a great reputation as a top notch data center provider and I could not be more pleased that they have chosen Loudoun’s ‘Data Center Alley’ as the place where they plant their next flag.” said Buddy Rizer, Executive Director of Economic Development for Loudoun County.

Kestler is leading the company’s efforts to expand the sales team to support the company’s expansion to Ashburn.  Along those lines, the company also announced that Steve Conner has joined Vantage as Vice President, Sales and Solutions Engineering.  Conner is an internet infrastructure industry veteran, having previously held sales and sales management roles at several companies including Cloudistics, Nutanix, and Exodus Communications.
