Carol Harper Vernon

Serving as vice president of global legal at Vantage Data Centers, Carol Harper Vernon oversees the company’s commercial matters, including legal and corporate governance in support of global strategic opportunities, business objectives and corporate development. With nearly 25 years of legal experience within the data center, telecommunications and internet industries, Vernon brings to Vantage an extensive background in managing a variety of legal strategies, including financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), leasing, as well as vendor and customer agreements.

Prior to joining Vantage, Vernon founded and served as a managing member at HV Law LLC where she acted as outside general counsel for organizations within the data center and technology industries. Before HV Law LLC, Vernon served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, at ViaWest, Inc. (now Flexential) and was responsible for developing and guiding the company’s overall legal policies. While at ViaWest, she also acted as lead supervising attorney on all bank and private equity financings and M&A activities, including more than 10 acquisitions.

Vernon received her Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago and earned her Bachelor of Arts in economics from Lawrence University.
