Josh Buis leads global business development at Vantage Data Centers where he is responsible for market strategy, ecosystem engagement, and identifying growth opportunities across new, emerging and established markets. He works closely with customers, partners and executive leadership to shape where and how Vantage invests, builds and competes, positioning the company for the next wave of AI, cloud and advanced computing demand.
With more than 25 years of experience spanning telecommunications, internet infrastructure, real estate and data centers, Buis has built his career at the intersection of technology, capital and market strategy. He is known for anticipating shifts in infrastructure demand and translating those insights into scalable growth. Throughout his career, he has helped some of the world’s largest technology companies plan and deliver critical infrastructure projects across multiple continents.
Buis played a key role in launching Vantage’s EMEA business, developing the original business plan and strategic foundation that helped establish the region as a leading hyperscale platform. Building on that success, he now leads the global function responsible for aligning customer demand, market intelligence and infrastructure strategy across the company.
Before joining Vantage, Buis was a partner and founder of Data Center Advisory Group where he advised capital providers and operators on funding strategies, mergers and acquisitions, and global market-entry initiatives. Earlier in his career, he spent six years at Amazon Web Services, leading the due diligence, acquisition and delivery of low-cost, highly scalable data center infrastructure across 10 countries. During that time, he oversaw more than $1 billion in transactions before assuming leadership of the global team responsible for those functions. He also held leadership positions at IBM, Yahoo, CBRE and AT&T.
Buis earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from Texas A&M University.
